Dennis Smith Jr. (elbow) waived by Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers waived point guard Dennis Smith Jr. (elbow).
What It Means:
Smith was recently diagnosed with a high-grade partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He is expected to be re-evaluated around mid-March. The Trail Blazers signed Brandon Williams to a two-year, two-way contract this week, so he might be able to earn a role down the stretch.
DSJ averaged 0.99 FanDuel points per minute in 17.2 minutes per game for the Trail Blazers this season.
