Wayne Ellington (hamstring) ruled out for Lakers opener

Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Wayne Ellington (left hamstring) will not play in Tuesday's season opener versus the Golden State Warriors.

What It Means:

Ellington suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in the preseason and it's not clear when he will be ready to play. Malik Monk, Kent Bazemore, and Carmelo Anthony are all candidates to see more minutes and 3-point chances with Ellington sidelined.

numberFire's models expect Ellington's absence to free up 18.9 minutes of playing time in the Lakers' rotation. Monk has a $4,000 salary on FanDuel for Tuesday's slate. Bazemore has a $4,700 salary and Melo has a $5,000 salary. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Lakers are currently 3.0-point favorites over the Warriors.
