Kyle Lowry joining Heat with 3-year contract
The Miami Heat are acquiring point guard Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Lowry and the Heat have agreed to a three-year deal worth approximately $90 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The Raptors are expected to receive Goran Dragic and Precious Achiuwa in return. Lowry was limited to 46 games last season, his lowest since his rookie season back in 2006-07, but the veteran still produced 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.8 3-pointers per contest. Lowry's arrival in Miami is likely going to lead to fewer opportunities for Kendrick Nunn and Tyler Herro.
Lowry averaged 35.7 FanDuel points in 34.8 minutes per game last season. He ranked 17th in assist percentage (31.8) last season and has finished in the top-20 in three of the last four seasons.
