Kevon Looney adds 11 points, 4 boards in Warriors win
Kevon Looney scored 11 points and collected 4 rebounds in 19 minutes in an 83-67 win over the Kings on Wednesday.
Looney was a beast for the UCLA Bruins in his lone season in 2014-15. A hip injury caused him to drop in the NBA Draft, landing with the defending champion Golden State Warriors 30th overall. He might not see a ton of minutes as a rookie, but he could prove to be one of the Draft's biggest steals.
Looney led the Pac-12 in offensive rebounds (122) and was third in defensive boards (209). His Total Rebound Percentage of 16.6% ranked third in the conference as well. Despite leading the NBA in Defensive Efficiency, according to our metrics, the Warriors were a slightly below average defensive rebounding team, posting a Defensive Rebounding Percentage of 74.5%, which ranked 18th in the NBA.
