David Stockton scores 17 in lopsided loss to Warriors

David Stockton notched 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting in the Kings' 83-67 loss to the Warriors on Wednesday.

What It Means:

A willing passer with a 26.3% career assist percentage in four years at Gonzaga, Stockton is vying for a role with the team this season. He appeared in just three games last year for a total of 33 minutes with the Kings.

The Kings have three points guards already, but none of them were overly efficient in 2014-15, based on our nERD metric, which indicates how many wins above or below .500 a team would be with a given player as a starter. Darren Collison was the only of the three with a positive nERD (1.0). Andre Miller (-1.2) and Rajon Rondo (-5.1) were below average players last season. Still, Stockton will have to continue playing well even to compete for a roster spot.
