Knicks are finalizing deal with Tony Wroten
The New York Knicks are reportedly finalizing a deal with free agent guard Tony Wroten, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.
Wroten has not played since the Philadelphia 76ers waived him back in December, but with how badly the Knicks need point guard depth, the potential signing makes sense. Even with the potential to gain some minutes down the stretch for the Knicks, Wroten is coming off an ACL injury and struggled in limited minutes before being cut by Philadelphia.
Wroten has a nERD of -3.0 this season in just eight games with the Sixers, and his averages of 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists are far from his production last year before his ACL injury. The former first-round pick has an Effective Field Goal Percentage of only 36.2 percent this season.
