R.J. Hunter admits he's struggling to find spots

When asked about finding his shooting spots in the Celtics offense, R.J. Hunter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "That is the part I’m still struggling with." He added "In college, my spots were everywhere. Now, it’s just the sides of the court. I’ve still got to figure that out."

What It Means:

The Celtics may have ranked 27th in three point percentage last season, but it seems like they want their deadeye rookie to be particular about his shots for now. In six summer league games, Hunter has average 10.8 points and 2.3 rebounds, while shooting 35.8% from three. He will be playing in a crowded backcourt, but three of the Celtics main guards, consisting of Avery Bradley, Evan Turner, and Marcus Smart, combined for a -11.1 nERD last season. Clearly there's room for improvement.
