Aaron Gordon reportedly subject of 'significant talks' between Magic, Rockets

Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon has been the subject of "significant talks" between the Magic and Houston Rockets, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

What It Means:

Charania states that "no deal is imminent" but it appears the Rockets have emerged as the favorite to land Gordon if the Magic trade him elsewhere. The Boston Celtics have also "engaged in" trade discussions with the Magic while the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, and Portland Trail Blazers all remain interested. Gordon came back to earth on Sunday (12 points, 3-of-13 shooting) after erupting for a season-best 38 points with a career-high 7 triples on Friday. His usage rate will likely take a hit if Gordon lands in Houston or anywhere else, but depending on what the Magic's roster looks like after the deadline, Dwayne Bacon could take on a larger role to finish the year.

Gordon is averaging 30.5 FanDuel points per game with a 24.1 percent usage rate and career-best 54.6 true shooting percentage. Bacon is registering a 19.1 usage percentage with 0.6 FanDuel points per minute this season with Gordon off the court.
