Shams: Blake Griffin expected to sign with Nets after buyout
Former Detroit Pistons forward/center Blake Griffin is expected to sign with the Brooklyn Nets, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Griffin was bought out by the Pistons on Friday, as the veteran barely played and wanted to join a contender. He's done that, as the Nets are widely considered the favorites to win the Eastern Conference. It's unclear what kind of role Griffin will play for the team, but his arrival will likely mean fewer minutes for Jeff Green and Nicolas Claxton.
In 20 games this season, Griffin has averaged 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 24.0 FanDuel points.
