Elfrid Payton (hamstring) a GTD for Knicks Thursday

New York Knicks point guard Elfrid Payton (hamstring) is a game-time decision on Thursday versus the Sacramento Kings, per head coach Tom Thibodeau.

What It Means:

Payton is dealing with some soreness after logging over 30 minutes each of the past two games. The Knicks listed him as doubtful on the injury report but Thibodeau wants to see how Payton is feeling after warmups before ruling out his point guard. Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley are candidates to start if Payton sits. R.J. Barrett should also see a boost without Payton.

Barrett is leading the Knicks with a 5.4 assist percent rate increase and 8.0 percent usage rate increase when Payton has been off the court in February.
