Derrick Rose not expected to make Knicks season debut Tuesday
New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose isn't expected to make his season debut for the team on Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons, per Steve Popper of Newsday Sports.
Rose's availability depends on Dennis Smith Jr.'s physical, which reportedly hasn't been completed yet. Popper believes Rose is a "longshot" for Tuesday and Knicks teammate Immanuel Quickley also believes Rose will have to wait at least one more game. Rose played 64 games for the Knicks during the 2016-17 season and was acquired from the Detroit Pistons over the weekend. The 32-year-old veteran joins a crowded backcourt that already includes Quickley, Elfrid Payton, Alec Burks, and Austin Rivers.
Rose averaged 25.3 FanDuel points in 22.7 minutes over 15 games for the Pistons this season with a 29.4 percent usage rate and 51.7 true shooting percentage.
