James Wiseman embracing role off Warriors' bench
Golden State Warriors rookie center James Wiseman said a reserve role is "helpful for [his] development" after he played 16 minutes off the bench in Monday's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wiseman scored 13 points (4-of-5 field goals, 5-of-8 free throws) with 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in his first NBA game off the bench. Kevon Looney replaced the Warriors' first-round pick in the starting lineup. The switch resulted in a victory and it sounds like head coach Steve Kerr will stick with the same approach on Wednesday in a rematch against the Timberwolves.
Wiseman scored 21.8 FanDuel points on Monday and recorded a 26.6 percent usage rate, compared to his season average of 24.4 percent. He has the sixth-best block rate (5.9 percent) in the NBA at this point in the season.
