San Antonio Spurs guard/forward Kawhi Leonard (left calf) will not play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
He was kicked in the calf yesterday, which may have aggravated some soreness. Leonard reportedly was playing through a calf issue since February 9, so there is a decent chance he could miss Sunday, as well. Kyle Anderson should get another start in a favorable matchup tonight. Jonathon Simmons could also play more. The Spurs also ran a ton of three-guard lineups on Thursday.
Leonard is a true two-way force and has earned the second-best nERD in the league this season with a 20.6 mark. He's having a career-year, averaging 20.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.8 3-pointers per game. His 62.1 True Shooting Percentage is the fifth highest in the league while his 4.0 Defensive Win Shares are second-to-none.
