Heat trade Jarnell Stokes to New Orleans
Power forward Jarnell Stokes has been traded from the Miami Heat to the New Orleans Pelicans.
It's basically just a salary dump for the Heat as they will only receive a highly-protected second-round pick from the Pelicans. Stokes was never able to crack the rotation in Miami, but that could change in New Orleans, especially if they end up dealing Ryan Anderson at the deadline.
Stokes logged a total of 14 minutes in five appearances for the Heat. The Pelicans currently check in at 22nd in our Team Power Rankings, with our models giving them a 1.4 percent chance of making the playoffs.
