Klay Thompson reportedly suffers significant leg injury at Warriors practice
Golden State Warriors guard/forward Klay Thompson is believed to have suffered a significant right Achilles injury, reports Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Thompson is undergoing tests to determine the severity of the injury. The 30-year-old All-Star had just recovered from a torn ACL he suffered during the 2019 finals. Thompson's status for the beginning of the season next month is now in obvious peril. Damion Lee could have a much larger role than expected while Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry should also see a higher usage rate if Thompson is unavailable.
Lee averaged 24.7 FanDuel points with 12.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 3-pointers in 49 games last season.
