Houston reportedly trades Trevor Ariza, No. 16 to Detroit
Houston Rockets guard/forward Trevor Ariza is headed to the Detroit Pistons, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Ariza has a salary of $12.8 million for 2021, and the Rockets are desperately trying to clear cap room. To get Detroit to take on his contract, they had to give up the No. 16 pick in the 2020 Draft. In return, they're receiving a future first, which is heavily protected until 2028. We'll see if new general manager Rafael Stone can make something out of the newfound flexibility.
For the Portland Trail Blazers last season, Ariza averaged 11.0 points with 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
