Kings expected to fire George Karl by All-Star break
Sacramento Kings coach George Karl is expected to be fired in the coming days, according to sources of ESPN's Marc Stein.
Karl has been on the hot seat for a while now, and it doesn't help that the Kings have lost four straight games, including three straight laughers. They don't play again until Wednesday versus the Philadelphia 76ers, so it will be interesting to see if they make a change prior to that one. Kings assistant coach Corliss Williamson is said to be the favorite to replace Karl.
According to numberFire's Team Power Rankings, the Kings rank 20th in the league, and our models project them to finish with a record of 35-47 while giving them just a 4.8 percent chance of making the playoffs. Their offense ranks an impressive ninth, according to our metrics, but the defense checks in at 22nd.
