Warriors' Festus Ezeli having left knee surgery
Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli (knee) is having surgery on his left knee.
At this point it's unknown exactly what the procedure is, but regardless, it will likely keep Ezeli out at least four-to-six weeks. With Ezeli sidelined, Marreese Speights can be expected to see more action with the second unit. Hopefully for the Warriors, Ezeli will be back for the playoffs.
Ezeli has been efficient in his backup role this season, posting a 4.1 nERD, which ranks 39th, in 40 games played. He's averaging 7.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while posting a 56.7 True Shooting Percentage. Speights is averaging 8.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists since Ezeli has been out.
