Lonzo Ball unlikely to play in Pelicans' finale Thursday night

New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball is unlikely to play on Thursday against the Orlando Magic, per head coach Alvin Gentry.

What It Means:

Gentry indicated that Ball will only be used in an emergency situation. The Pelicans have been pushed out of the playoff chase, so they will turn to their bench guys for their season finale. Frank Jackson and Nickeil Alexander-Walker will join Josh Hart (knee), Nicolo Melli, and Jaxson Hayes in the starting lineup on Thursday evening. Hart, Jackson, and Alexander-Walker figure to carry most of the offensive workload.

Hart has averaged 23.4 FanDuel points per game when Ball doesn't play this season, with 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.5 3-pointers.
