Suns' Aron Baynes reveals COVID-19 diagnosis, trying to clear NBA's protocol
Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes revealed to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic Wednesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
This isn't a new diagnosis, but according to Baynes, he's still trying to clear the league's protocol after not touching 'a basketball for 30 days.' And unlike the majority of the positive cases across the league, Baynes did have symptoms, saying he slept for four-days straight dealing with the virus. It's unclear how long it'll take for the Australian native to get to the team in Orlando for the NBA restart.
Our models currently project Baynes for 13.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 26.4 FanDuel points across 25.0 minutes of action in the team's first game back against the Washington Wizards on July 31, but it seems like a longshot at the moment that he'll be ready for that game.
