Pacers' Domantas Sabonis has plantar fasciitis
Indiana Pacers power forward Domantas Sabonis has plantar fasciitis, per head coach Nate McMillan.
McMillan confirmed that Sabonis will not be available for Thursday's scrimmage versus the Portland Trail Blazers. This sort of injury tends to linger and could wind up limiting Sabonis when the season resumes. Myles Turner stands to gain the most with Sabonis sidelined. JaKarr Sampson and Goga Bitadze are also dealing with unknown ailments, so Justin Holiday could see time at power forward and there may be additional work for Doug McDermott. McMillan mentioned T.J. Leaf as an option at center for the potentially shorthanded frontcourt.
Sabonis was averaging the fifth-most rebounds per game (12.4) before the season was suspended. Turner's usage rate rises a team-high 6.3 percent and he averages 1.2 FanDuel points per minute without Sabonis on the floor, per RotoGrinders.
