Pacers' Malcolm Brogdon reportedly tests positive for COVID-19

Indiana Pacers shooting guard Malcolm Brogdon has tested positive for COVID-19, league sources tell IndyStarSports.

What It Means:

This comes less than 24 hours after a report that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic also tested positive. The NBA is currently scheduled to restart on July 31, so Brogdon has over a month to recover. However, this is a reminder that the COVID-19 pandemic could still thwart the NBA's current plan. Brogdon's role is highly dependent on the health of Victor Oladipo, who hasn't indicated whether or not he will play in Orlando.

Brogdon is averaging 32.8 FanDuel points per game this season, 64th-most in the NBA. His 25.2 percent usage rate is second on the Pacers to only Victor Oladipo (27.0), though it dipped to 23.4 percent after the break. Brogdon's usage rate drops to only 21.8 percent when sharing the floor with Oladipo. He also averages only 0.95 FanDuel points per minute in those situations, compared to 1.14 FanDuel points per minute when Oladipo isn't playing.
