Kyrie Irving "doesn't support going into Orlando" to resume NBA season
Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving told 80-plus NBA players during a 1 hour and 40-minute call on Friday that, among other things, he "doesn't support going into Orlando", according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
On Friday's call, Irving stated that he is "willing to give up everything he has (for social reform)" and voiced his concerns about resuming the season in Orlando. He led the call discussing taking a stand for social injustice by sitting out. Carmelo Anthony, and Dwight Howard were among a group of players that joined Irving in mentioning the possibility of sitting out the league's resumption due to COVID-19/social issues.
