Jordan McRae

Pistons reportedly picking up Jordan McRae

The Detroit Pistons are claiming shooting guard Jordan McRae off waivers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

What It Means:

McRae was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Denver Nuggets at the deadline. He made just four limited appearances for the Nuggets before having his contract bought out this past weekend. McRae should be able to contribute immediately for a Pistons team that is currently decimated by injuries in the backcourt. He scored 20-plus five times in 29 games for the Wizards, including a 35-point outing. McRae's arrival could keep a ceiling on rookie Jordan Bone's workload. The Phoenix Suns were also interested in McRae's services.

McRae averaged 12.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.4 3-pointers in 22.5 minutes per game for the Wizards before being dealt.
