76ers' Joel Embiid (hand) to undergo surgery and be reevaluated in 1-2 weeks
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will undergo surgery on the torn ligament in his hand.
Following the procedure, he'll be reevaluated in 1-2 weeks before the team decides on his next move. That likely means he'll be out until the end of January at the earliest, and the Sixers could employ a smaller lineup with Al Horford starting at center in his absence.
In 31 games this season, Embiid has averaged 23.4 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.4 blocks and 46.6 FanDuel points.
