Dallas will be without Dirk Nowitzki (knee) for matchup with Minnesota
Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki (right knee effusion) will not play Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
What It Means:
Mavericks' coach Rick Carlisle would not commit to Dirk being ready for Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. With Nowitzki on the sidelines, there will be more minutes available for Dwight Powell and Charlie Villanueva.
Nowitzki is making just 39.6 percent of his shots through nine January contests, putting him at 44.9 percent shooting for the year. He's averaging 17.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 3-pointers through 40 contests this season. His 6.5 nERD ranks 27th in the league.
