Willie Reed continues to impress Heat staff
Former D-League center Willie Reed, has taken the Orlando Summer League by storm with another dominate performance. He recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers in 30 minutes of play. One of his four blocks came with 6 seconds left of a tie ball game enabling teammate Shabazz Napier to subsequently secure a Heat victory on the other end of the court.
What It Means:
Coaches are describing Reed as Hassan Whiteside 2.0 as he continues to dominate the paint. Through four summer league games he is now averaging 13.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks. At this pace Reed may be turning the page on his D-League career and starting a new chapter in the NBA.
