Fred VanVleet scores career-high 34, Raptors top Pelicans in overtime
Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet scored a career-high 34 points (12-of-18 field goals, 5-of-6 free throws) with 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 5 3-pointers, and 2 turnovers in 44.4 minutes of a 130-122 overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
VanVleet and Pascal Siakam both led the contest with 34 points each. In addition to the career scoring night, VanVleet also set new personal high-water marks in made field goals and minutes played. The young guard looks like a breakout candidate following the offseason departure of Kawhi Leonard. VanVleet did go to the locker room at one point for an ankle issue, so keep an eye on his status for Friday's game against the Boston Celtics.
FVV scored 54.5 FanDuel points on Tuesday. numberFire's models project him for 13.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.9 steals, and 2.0 triples per contest over the rest of the season.
