Wizards' Marcin Gortat (knee) has non-staph infection
Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat's knee infection is not a staph infection.
Gortat is still not going to make it back on Wednesday and he could be out for several games, but this is good news nonetheless. There is still no word on his treatment or really any other details, but owners should continue to stash him in the meantime. Expect Nene, Drew Gooden and DeJuan Blair to help fill the void for Gortat.
Gortat has earned the 68th-ranked nERD through 32 games this season. He's averaging 13.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest. He's shooting 51.9 percent from the field, a notch below his 54.7 percent career average.
