Pelicans' Quincy Pondexter (knee surgery) done for the year

New Orleans Pelicans' guard/forward Quincy Pondexter will undergo season-ending left knee surgery on Jan. 20 in New York, according to Yahoo! Sports.

What It Means:

Pondexter, who didn't play a single game this year due to the knee injury, made a decent impact when the Pelicans' acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies in the middle of the 2014-2015 season. He started 28 games, playing an average of 27.8 minutes per game. He put up 9.0 points per game on a .567 Effective Field Goal Percentage, though his 112 Defensive Rating was among the worst on the team.
