Magic's Elfrid Payton (ankle) will not play Monday
Orlando Magic guard Elfrid Payton (ankle) will not play against the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
It's the first "DNP" of his career. Payton has been awful in his last three games and some of it is due to him laboring through an ankle issue, so resting is for his own good here. It'll be Victor Oladipo in the starting lineup with Shabazz Napier backing him up.
The Magic rank 15th in overall team efficiency, according to numberFire's signature nERD metric. Their defense ranks ninth. Oladipo is averaging 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists over 32 games (12 starts). We project about that total for him tonight.
