Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith (illness) will start on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics, shifting Jared Cunningham to the bench.
Smith won't have any restrictions tonight after missing Friday's game against the Orlando Magic with a stomach illness. Iman Shumpert's return to the rotation hasn't cut into Smith's minutes, so he can remain active for now.
Smith is having an extremely inefficient season. He's hitting just 37.3 percent of his shots, although he's shooting a respectable 36.4 percent from the 3-point line. Smith's -2.2 nERD ranks 97th. Our models project him to have 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.8 treys against the Celtics tonight.
