D’Angelo Russell racks up 39 points, 9 boards, 8 assists in Nets' loss
Brooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell scored 39 points (16-of-34 field goals, 4-of-8 free throws) with 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, 3 3-pointers, and 6 turnovers in 42.2 minutes of a 148-144 double-overtime loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.
Russell went just 3-of-14 from beyond the arc (21.4 percent) in his worst 3-point shooting performance since March 11 (16.7 percent). He's scored 30-plus in three of the last four games, including a career-high 44 points last Tuesday. In that four-game stretch, Russell has averaged 34.0 points and 10.8 helpers. The Nets will pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
