Jusuf Nurkic suffers season-ending leg injury in Trail Blazers' victory
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic sustained season-ending compound fractures to his left tibia and fibula during a 148-144 double-overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.
Nurkic suffered the horrendous injury with two minutes left in the second overtime period. It's a devastating blow, as the 24-year-old has been playing some of the best ball of his career and the Trail Blazers are currently penciled in for homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Nurkic finished a point shy of his personal-high before being carried off on a stretcher, scoring 32 points with 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks, and 1 turnover in 33.9 minutes. Enes Kanter, Meyers Leonard, and Zach Collins will divvy up Nurkic's minutes moving forward.
Nurkic averaged 15.6 points, 10.4 boards, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.4 blocks, and 37.8 FanDuel points in 72 games this season.
