Trevor Ariza's (back) status uncertain for Rockets
Houston Rockets forward Trevor Ariza's (bruised lower back) status for Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards is currently unknown.
We're tempted to believe Ariza won't play tonight after the Rockets called up K.J. McDaniels from their D-League affiliate. Corey Brewer would make for an appealing punt play in a spot-start if Ariza is unable to give it a go.
Ariza has a -7.3 nERD on the season, which is in the bottom-12 among qualified players. He's struggled from the field, making only 37.8 percent of shots on the year. He's averaging 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.8 3-pointers through 22 starts.
