Raptors' Fred VanVleet reportedly undergoing thumb surgery, out 5 weeks
Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet will undergo surgery for ligament damage in his left thumb and miss approximately 5 weeks, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.
VanVleet was previously expected to miss 3 weeks, so this is a bit of a downgrade. Newly-acquired Jeremy Lin, Danny Green, and Norman Powell will share backup point guard duties while VanVleet is on the shelf.
FVV is averaging 22.7 FanDuel points through 51 games (22 starts) this season, with 10.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.7 triples per contest.
