The Atlanta Hawks and guard Jeremy Lin are finalizing a buyout, per agents Jim Tanner and Roger Montgomery via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Lin will join Fred VanVleet in the second unit to help provide depth in the backcourt behind Kyle Lowry, who is dealing with a lingering back injury. Jaylen Adams could see more run for the Hawks with Lin out of the equation.
Lin averaged 19.6 FanDuel points in 51 games (one start) for the Hawks this season, with 10.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.9 triples per contest.
