Wayne Ellington reportedly going to Detroit
Waived shooting guard Wayne Ellington is "closing in on a commitment" to sign with the Detroit Pistons, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Ellington was traded from the Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday and then promptly waived on Thursday. The 31-year-old "will be afforded a role that’ll help showcase him for summer free agency," per Woj. Ellington will likely take some minutes away from Luke Kennard and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.
Ellington averaged 15.0 FanDuel points over 21.3 minutes in 25 games (12 starts) for the Heat this season.
