76ers waive Phil Pressey on Friday
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Phil Pressey was waived by the team on Friday.
The Return of Tony Wroten is upon us. With Wroten being recalled from the D-League and expected to return to action on Saturday against the Denver Nuggets, this was an anticipated transaction. Pressey will choose between the D-League or giving it a shot across the pond.
Wroten was limited to 30 games last season after tearing his ACL. He had been showing progress prior to the injury, achieving career highs in offensive rating, Player Efficiency Rating and true shooting percentage. His usage rate was up to 30.5 percent, so he has value when healthy. Our most recent models projected him to average 27.9 minutes in 61 games for the rest of the season, registering 13.1 points, 5.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
