Nuggets' Nikola Jokic benched after halftime Wednesday
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic started Wednesday's game but was benched after halftime, finishing with only seven points, three rebounds and one block in 10 minutes.
Jokic was taken to school by Pau Gasol in the first half, so head coach Mike Malone went with J.J. Hickson instead. Malone recently said Jokic "earned" the starting job, so we would expect him to play closer to 20 minutes against Bismack Biyombo and the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night.
Jokic's 3.0 nERD puts him right at 50th in the league. Our models currently project him to play a little over 18 minutes against the Raptors, recording 6.0 points, 3.7 boards, 1.2 assists and 0.8 steals.
