Austin Rivers expected to sign with Memphis
Combo guard Austin Rivers is expected to sign a contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
What It Means:
Rivers was dealt from the Washington Wizards to the Phoenix Suns in a three-team deal that transpired over the weekend. However, the Suns quickly moved to buy out his contract. Once that is completed, Rivers is free to sign with any team he wants, and it appears as though he wishes to play in Memphis.
In 29 games this season, Rivers has averaged 7.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
