Clippers' Chris Paul (rib muscle strain) doesn't return Monday
Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul was diagnosed with a rib muscle strain and did not return to Monday's game versus the Portland Trail Blazers.
Paul was constantly holding his side throughout the second half and appeared to be in significant pain, but the injury isn't expected to be too serious. He has already missed three games this season with a groin injury. The prolific point guard will be considered questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Indiana Pacers. Austin Rivers would be the likely starter in Paul's place, with Jamal Crawford being the attractive DFS option.
Disappointing for his standards, Paul has the 22nd-best nERd in the league right now at 7.3. We project modest improvement from him for the rest of the season and see him averaging 21.8 points, 7.5 assists, 4.2 boards and 1.9 steals for the remainder of the year.
