Tyson Chandler clears waivers, officially signs with Lakers
Former Phoenix Suns center Tyson Chandler has cleared waivers and has officially signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as planned.
Chandler was bought out of his contract by the Suns over the weekend but had to wait two days to clear waivers before signing with L.A. He will make a minimum-level deal with the Lakers as he provides some depth at the center spot behind JaVale McGee. Johnathan Williams and Ivica Zubac will see their minutes shrivel up with Chandler on the roster.
Chandler averaged 3.7 points and 5.6 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game this season with Phoenix.
