Bulls' Lauri Markkanen 'a couple weeks away' from contact
Chicago Bulls power forward Lauri Markkanen (elbow) is still "a couple weeks away" from being able to go through full-contact work, said head coach Fred Hoiberg.
What It Means:
"He’s getting on the track and doing some straight-ahead running," said Hoiberg. "He feels good. He doesn’t have any pain with that. He’s still a couple weeks away from really doing anything as far as contact is concerned." Markkanen was expected to miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing elbow surgery, and he is at the end of the 5th week, so it sounds like he will hit the back end of that timetable.
numberFire's models project Markkanen to average 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 2.1 3-pointers in 31.7 minutes per game this season.
