Phoenix Suns guard/forward Jamal Crawford will not play in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Dallas Mavericks, head coach Igor Kokoskov said.
Crawford officially signed with the team Wednesday but will wait to make his team and season debut. It's not entirely clear how the rebuilding Suns intend to use the 38-year-old veteran.
Crawford averaged 10.3 points and 1.3 3-pointers with 2.3 assists for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.
