Sixers' Nik Stauskas diagnosed with knee contusion
Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard Nik Stauskas had an MRI that revealed a left knee contusion, and he is currently without an official timetable to return.
Knee contusions do not typically come with lengthy absences, but considering the 76ers are extremely cautious with injuries, it's likely that Stauskas will be doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics. Look for Isaiah Canaan and Robert Covington to see increased playing time if Stauskas is unable to play.
Stauskas has the sixth-worst nERD this season at -10.8 (155th overall). He's averaging 9.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game over 14 games played (13 starts). We project him to average 7.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game over the remaining course of the season.
