4 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 3/30/16

Tim Frazier should see a lot of playing time tonight, but what other low-cost players should you target?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you'll need to find one of these lower-priced options to squeeze everyone into your lineup.

Let's take a look at four guys who can help fill the gaps in your lineup tonight. Of course, remember to check our projections closer to tip because so much can change in the NBA throughout the day.

Tim Frazier, PG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $4,000

The Pelicans have almost no one left on their roster who is healthy. Jrue Holiday is now done for the season, which leaves Toney Douglas and Tim Frazier. Douglas will likely get more minutes and potentially score more, but he is also $5,700 compared to just $4,000 for Frazier. Frazier is very inexpensive and will likely play around 28 minutes.

In the last two games that Holiday sat out, Frazier scored 6.7 and 7.8 times his salary (points per $1,000 in salary). If you want to go cheap at the point guard position tonight, he is your guy.

Rodney Hood, SG, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $5,200

Rodney Hood went off last game and scored 30 points in the first half. Unfortunately for his fantasy owners, the Jazz blew out the Lakers by 48 points, so he barely played in the entire second half. He is playing a consistent 30-plus minutes for Utah lately. The Jazz take on the Warriors tonight, so there is a threat of a blowout, but our game projections actually have Utah keeping it close.

If they can, Hood will see his normal amount of playing time against a fast team. He may not repeat his performance from last game, but he needs only 26 fantasy points to score five times his salary.

Dante Cunningham, PF, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $3,700

I could probably make a case for the entire active New Orleans roster as value plays for tonight because they are all so cheap, but that wouldn't be any fun. Enter Dante Cunningham, who is near a minimum price tag at $3,700 on FanDuel. Cunningham has played more than 36 minutes in three straight games for the Pelicans. Like anyone priced around $3,700, Cunningham won't score you enough points win you a league, but the value he offers could do just that.

Wesley Matthews, SG, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $4,900

Wesley Matthews has been extremely safe since the season-ending injury to Chandler Parsons. You have probably heard it by now, but I'll say it again, Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle expressed that they would rely on Matthews during Parsons' absence. In the five games that Parsons has missed, Matthews is averaging 6.8 times his salary. However, his price did jump up $500 since his last game, which does make him slightly less of an appealing option. I still believe his cost is low enough, and he touches the ball often in the Dallas offense. You can still find some value here.
