3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 3/10/16

Gary Harris is getting plenty of minutes and has a beatable matchup tonight. Who else can you target for salary cap relief?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you'll need to find one of these lower-priced options to squeeze everyone into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three guys who can help fill the gaps in your lineup tonight. Of course, remember to check our projections closer to tip because so much can change in the NBA throughout the day.

Taj Gibson, PF, Chicago Bulls

FanDuel Price: $5,200

Taj Gibson hasn't been on a tear lately, averaging just 22 FanDuel points per game in his last five, but the minutes have been there. He's played at least 36 minutes in consecutive games but has been off since Monday, so fatigue shouldn't be a factor. He scored 13 points and grabbed 10 boards against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, adding in 3 blocks (33 FanDuel points). He notched just 21.4 points in the game prior.

Still, it's the minutes that we're honed in on for Gibson. We have him projected for 35.4 minutes tonight and 28.37 FanDuel points, making him the best algorithm-selected value pick on the slate at this point -- even in a tough matchup with the Spurs.

Gary Harris, SG, Denver Nuggets

FanDuel Price: $5,100

Gary Harris is getting minutes, too. In fact, he's seen at least 40 minutes in four of his last six games, and he's reached at least five times value (five fantasy points per $1,000 in salary) in four of those six, too. That threshold is great news on FanDuel. He's hit at least five times value in seven of his last 12 games, and he's dipped below that just once in those dozen games.

Among all players playing tonight, Harris (and Will Barton, by proxy) has the best composite score of opponent strength against his position, over/under, and spread. Value isn't easy to find tonight, but Harris should do the trick again. He'll be helped by the Suns' Pace and inability to defend the three-point arc, as they have allowed the most three-point attempts of all teams in play tonight.

Mirza Teletovic, PF, Phoenix Suns

FanDuel Price: $4,600

Mirza Teletovic comes in as the third-best value play on the night, per our algorithms, and is projected for 27.6 minutes. Teletovic hasn't hit five times value in his past five games, but his minutes have been fairly secure. The last time he failed to hit 20 minutes was 11 games ago, and he's played at least 19 minutes in every game since January 31st. That's not an elite mark, but you probably won't get stuck with a 12-minute dud from him. Those minutes can pay off, given the 214 over/under.

While three-point percentage against isn't exactly a reliable measure, the Nuggets have allowed the fourth-highest percentage from beyond the arc this year at 37.1%. Even with his struggles to reach value, he's shot 38.9% from three in his past five games on 36 attempts. In his last 10, he's been 41.0% from deep.
