3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Monday 3/20/23

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Taurean Prince, SF/PF, Timberwolves

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

The Minnesota Timberwolves have so many players listed as questionable, including Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert. While we'll ultimately have to see who ends up playing for Minnesota, as of now, I'm liking Taurean Prince as a value play.

Prince started in Minnesota's last game and played 30 minutes. That's plenty of minutes for a guy whose salary is $4,000. Of course, Prince mustered a mere 6.4 FanDuel points with those 30 minutes, but he shot a poor 1 of 7 from the field, including 0 for 4 from three.

If Prince gets into the starting five again, he should find more success, and his clunker last time out could scare away the masses.

Xavier Tillman, PF/C, Grizzlies

FanDuel Salary: $5,500

Xavier Tillman continues to project as a quality value pick.

Tillman has been mostly a decent floor play of late with the Memphis Grizzlies banged up, but with that said, he's gone for at least 7.0 FanDuel points per $1,000 twice over the past seven games -- with one such game coming last time out in a 38.5-point effort. He's got a nice ceiling, and he could flash it tonight -- especially if Jaren Jackson Jr. sits -- in a date with the Dallas Mavericks.

This game has a 229.0-point total and 2.0-point spread. Since making the trade for Kyrie Irving, Dallas is no longer the slow-paced team they used to be, as they rank 16th in pace over the past 10 games.

We project Tillman for 30.3 FanDuel points (5.51 per $1,000), and that's with our model accounting for Jackson playing.

Jordan Poole, PG/SG, Rockets

FanDuel Salary: $6,000

I want exposure to the Golden State Warriors-Houston Rockets game, and Jordan Poole is a modest-salaried way to get in on the fun.

The game boasts a 238.0-point total and 10.5-point spread. There's certainly blowout risk, but with how bad the Dubs have been on the road, the Rockets might be able to keep it competitive.

Houston is a great matchup for Poole. The Rockets have surrendered the second-highest three-point attempt rate over the last 15 games (44.4%). Over the past 30 games, Houston has allowed the most FanDuel points per night to two-guards (46.9).

Poole could catch fire, and if he doesn't start, he could see some blowout minutes if things do get out of hand.
