5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 2/2/23

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Ty Jerome, PG, Golden State Warriors
Jonathan Kuminga, SF, Golden State Warriors
Kevon Looney, C/PF, Golden State Warriors

Jerome's FanDuel Salary: $3,700
Kuminga's FanDuel Salary: $4,400
Looney's FanDuel Salary: $5,000

This is a true take-your-pick situation with the Golden State Warriors' value potential.

There is no official report, but the buzz is that the Big Four of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Draymond Green will be sitting this one out.

That'll lead to tons of opportunity for everyone else.

Ty Jerome is going to be at the top of virtually any value list tonight, and that's where he finds himself in the numberFire projections. Jerome is expected to play 32.6 minutes and score 28.2 FanDuel points against the Denver Nuggets.

Jonathan Kuminga is second in value rating (6.81 projected FanDuel points per $1,000 -- trailing just Jerome's mark of 7.63) for the night. His projection line includes 32.7 minutes and 30.0 FanDuel points.

Kevon Looney is third in value rating for the night. To clarify: that's not just among the Warriors -- but among all players.

We can also throw James Wiseman ($3,500), Donte DiVincenzo ($5,300), and Patrick Baldwin ($3,500) into the mix.

Long story short: Golden State is the first place to look for value tonight.

Kyle Lowry, PG, Miami Heat

FanDuel Salary: $4,900

So you have two or three or four Warriors in your lineup but still need some value? Kyle Lowry has some appeal at a sub-$5,000 salary. He's going to get 20-plus minutes easily (as always) in a matchup against the New York Knicks.

The only downside to the matchup itself is the lowest total on the board (215.5 with no other games below 223.5), but other than that, the matchup and spread are pointing to a great composite matchup overall.

Due to some absences for the Miami Heat, Lowry is projected for 31.4 minutes tonight, and in games with 30-plus minutes this season, he has averaged 30.1 FanDuel points.

Dwight Powell, C/PF, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Salary: $4,600

Dwight Powell and the Dallas Mavericks are hosting the New Orleans Pelicans tonight, and the Pelicans arrived in Dallas just after 12:30 p.m. local time for this matchup.

That itself isn't factored into the projections system or anything, but even without that, Powell is one of the top projected values of the day while the Mavs are without both Christian Wood and Maxi Kleber.

In seven games without both, Powell has averaged 28.4 minutes and is projected for a similar rate tonight (27.7).
